My name is Shaquitta Ray. I am passionate and advocate for high quality care in early childhood education. I received my bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina with concentration in early childhood education in 2011. I am currently part of the DSS leadership cohort program where I will be receiving my M. Ed in early childhood education in December 2024. I have over 18 years’ experience working with children from infants to school age. I have served as a teacher and assistant director working for high quality childcare facilities on military installations bases. The past seven years I have been working with DSS In early care and education division as a childcare licensing specialist. While working as a childcare licensing specialist I developed a desire for coaching and mentoring. I am certified trainer and in technical assistant provider. I plan to support and have a collaborative relationship with childcare facilities and staff to support professional growth in the field and excited to be with SC PITC. During my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends.
