Every individual who touches the lives of children has the power to make a difference through loving interactions. And sometimes it helps to talk to someone who has been in your shoes. Several highly effective SCPITC-trained child care teachers have offered to provide support and advice from their first-hand experiences in the classroom. These “mentor” teachers are skilled in active listening, creating respectful and supportive environments, and fostering relationships of mutual learning. All are active in infant/toddler child care settings and demonstrate best-practices in implementing relationship-based care. If you need support to develop your power to be the best you can be in the classroom, a mentor teacher is a phone call away.
