Distance Training Series 2014

A series of four workshops were offered through SCPITC’s annual distance training series, May 8-29, 2014. Participants received DSS training credit for each session attended. Presenters offered the workshops live from the USC Child Development Research Center broadcast classroom in Columbia. Viewing sites across the state were set up with on-site facilitators to support learning during the live broadcasts.

The workshop titles and DSS training topic areas were:

     May 8: Helping Adults Establish Healthy Food Attitudes and Behaviors in Young Children, 6 – 8 p.m. (Nutrition)

     May 15: Antagonists to Allies: Successfully Dealing with Family Concerns, 6 – 8 p.m. (Professional Development)

     May 22: Creating Indoor/Outdoor Materials That Support New ABC Physical Standards, 6 – 8 p.m. (Curriculum)

     May 29: Includes 2 sessions, one hour each, 6 – 8 p.m. Safe Sleep for South Carolina Babies (Health & Safety) and Supporting Breastfeeding in Child Care (Nutrition)
