Are we allowed to use cot sheets or not on cots? We have some that cover the entire cot and others that have elastic in the corners. We have had conflicting information on this and would prefer to use sheets.
There are regulations for the use of sheets on cribs, but there are no regulations requiring or preventing the use of sheets on cots or mats. If you choose to use sheets on cots or mats, best practice would be to assign linens to specific children and to launder them frequently. Fitted sheets would be safer to use with the younger children. The regulations do have more specific requirements if the children are in care overnight. In that case, cots and portable beds are not permitted. Each child would have their own bed with a solid foundation, a fire retardant mattress, a pillow, and bedding appropriate for the temperature of the center.
